Song of the Day: You & I

Video

Paper Route was at one time introduced to me as one of the best bands of the alternative underground. I couldn’t agree more! I don’t think they get the credit they deserve. Their vocalist is perfect. Every word they sing has me sold…if ever given the opportunity I want to be front row for one of their concerts.

My Song of the Day: Hurricane.

Video

This is my song of the day…I found it a couple of months back and have since then placed it on many of my spotify playlists. most of the time when i listen to a song it becomes less and less about the sound and more and more about the meaning behind it. This song makes me reflect on how wonderful it is to have someone that gets you/wants you despite your flaws, obscure thoughts or insecurities.

Happy Listening!

Silhouettes: Of Monsters and Men

This song really hits me for some reason. I absolutely love Of Monsters and Men, and The Hunger Games series–so I was thrilled when this track made its debut on the album for “Catching Fire.” This song reminds me of a lost friend of mine. He was my best friend. It’s hard to sit here and say “was” when we were so close. I shared my darkest secrets, irrational fears and embarrassing moments with this kid. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss him, and I wish I could fix our friendship. Due to a simple miscommunication/misunderstanding and a very controlling girlfriend I could never accomplish this. It crushes me because I feel so convicted over what happened and would do whatever it took to set things right. I know now that our lives are headed in perfectly good directions without each other, but i sincerely hope we cross paths again.

Now I must give credit where it’s due. Thank you Of Monsters and Men for a beautiful track,

I hope it touches everyone that listens to it–like it touched me.

It’s so hard letting go,
I’m finally at peace, but it feels wrong,
Slow I’m getting up,
My hands and feet are weaker than before.
And you are folded on the bed
Where I rest my head,
There’s nothing I can see,
Darkness becomes me.

[Chorus]
But I’m already there,
I’m already there,
Wherever there is you,
I will be there too

There’s nothing that I’d take back,
But it’s hard to say there’s nothing I regret.
Cause when I sing, you shout,
I breathe out loud,
You bleed, we crawl like animals,
But when it’s over, I’m still awake

[Bridge]
A thousand silhouettes dancing on my chest,
No matter where I sleep, you are haunting me

[Chorus] x2
But I’m already there,
I’m already there.
Wherever there is you,
I will be there too,

Cause I’m already there,
I’m already there,
Wherever there is you,
I will be there too.

Cause I’m already there,
I’m already there,
Wherever there is you,
I will be there too.
